Studies suggest that pistachios have anti-inflammatory benefits and may help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol when eaten as part of an overall healthy diet.3 Additionally, a 2010 study showed significantly lower triglyceride levels in subjects who ate pistachios.     Nuts are, with seeds, some of the very best foods for most of us. A plant will put all the nutrients required for its next generation of LIFE into its nuts and seeds. One thing the genome project has taught us is how similar many life forms are in their nutrient requirements.

One important caution is in order. Raw nuts and seeds contain phytic acid and should normally be consumed as a meal or snack by themselves as the phytic acid will keep nutrients from being absorbed. Once the nuts are soaked over night or roasted they may be eaten with other foods. For instance although raw nuts make a tasty addition to a salad don’t put them in as they will keep some of the nutrition from the salad from entering your bloodstream. Raw nuts and seeds eaten by themselves constitute a Phytic Acid (Phytic Acid) Chelation Protocol (Chelation).

 FRESH raw nuts contain lots of good fats. Yes nuts are high in calories from good fats and must be consumed by the ounce not the pound but this good fat will digest SLOWLY and keep us from getting hungry for quite awhile. A few nuts make a good portable snack that will satisfy our hunger and keep us going till we eat something good again. Store away a few small packs of good nuts, on your person, in your brief case, in your car and AVOID the garbage "snacks" you can buy out of machines.

Nuts contain magnesium, copper, protein, arginine, Vitamin E, selenium and good fats among other good things. I try to eat an ounce or two of nuts most days.

    

Vitamin B17, Amygdalin Found in Seeds  

Amygdalin, often referred to as vitamin B17, is found in usually small amounts in over 1200 foods including cherry pits  as well as apricot, peach, plum and prune pits and apple seeds. Other seeds are rich in amygdalin. As you will see vitamin B17 is one vitamin you do not want to be without if you wish to avoid cancer.
