Avocado Protocol

I eat a lot of avocados. I consider it my prime source of omega 6 and 7 EFA and MUCH, MUCH more. I noticed a person on a health chat board had the handle "avocado" at the time I thought it strange. I no longer do. Avocado has to be the PERFECT fruit!

   

“Hass avocados were found to contain the highest content of lutein among commonly eaten fruits as well as measurable amounts of related carotenoids (zeaxanthin, alpha-carotene, and beta-carotene). Lutein accounted for 70% of the measured carotenoids, and the avocado also contained significant quantities of vitamin E. “Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry Jan 2005 

“The avocado contains a sugar called mannoheptulose which has been shown to inhibit both synthesis and release of insulin. Consumption of a proper amount of this sugar would seem a natural solution to the problem of too much insulin in your blood.” Life Extension

Avocados Super-Enhanced Carotenoid Absorption

"This fortunate matchup between the fatty acid and carotenoid profiles in avocado even extends to the relationship between avocado and other foods. Scientists conducted a two-phase clinical study that demonstrated the powerful effects of adding avocado to other foods. There was a two-week washout period before each part of this crossover design.1 In one phase of this clinical study, either one cup (150 grams) of fresh avocado or 24 grams of avocado oil was added to a simple salad of romaine lettuce, spinach, and carrots that was consumed by the volunteers in one half of the crossover cycle, while the other half consumed avocado-free salads. In each case, the absorption of carotenoids was measured and compared nine-and-a-half hours after consumption.
