Beet Protocol

  

Raw beets are one of the very best things you can give your liver, brain. colon and ENERGY. Have at least a few raw beets a week. I am eating one raw beet a day.  I find the beet helps LOWER my BLOOD PRESSURE.

Beets can help increase your liver’s (See Liver Protection Protocol) critical glutathione (See Glutathione Protocol) production if required. 

Beets provide methyl donor groups (See TMG Protocol). Eating a decent sized raw beet once or twice a week is not too much to ask. The problem is most people have trouble wanting to eat raw beets. If you have a cook in the family they could make pickled raw beets, which you may like. If you cut up a beet in very small pieces, or shred it you can often sneak it into a salad (See Salad Protocol) or some other dish. I often add finely minced raw beets to my cooked carrots or cooked squash.

Caution: The beets we are discussing here are NOT Sugar Beets, a beet species grown for its sugar. Beet sugar is now GMO. This makes total avoidance of sugar IMO imperative! Beet sugar being cheaper than non-gmo cane sugar is used in the cheap processed foods as a cheap sweetening filler, oops I almost said KILLER.

  

Vitamin B17, Amygdalin Found in the Green Beet Tops  

Amygdalin, often referred to as vitamin B17, is found in usually small amounts in over 1000 foods including cherry pits  as well as apricot, peach, plum and prune pits and apple seeds. The green beet tops are rich in amygdalin. I eat the entire beet, greens, stems and root. As you will see vitamin B17 is one vitamin you do not want to be without if you wish to avoid cancer.

IMO this is absolutely astounding. I have been religiously eating my daily raw beet since I learned this. After a while it is kind of like eating an apple. I do cut my beet into thin strips to ease the chewing.

     

You Must Eat Your Beet(s) DAILY

The beet blood pressure lowering effect as well as many other healthful beet effects may only last 24 or so hours; you MUST eat your beet DAILY; kinda like you take your TOXIC DRUGS. LOL!

  

My KEY to Eating a RAW Beet

After decades I found the ideal way for me to eat my beets RAW. Simply take the beet out of the refrigerator a few days before its anticipated eating. It will soften without oxidizing and can be cut into small pieces and be easily eaten in a salad or other cold dish; or added to a hot dish after the dish has cooled somewhat.

“In vitro studies have shown that cranberry juice also inhibits the adhesion of  H. pylori to human gastric mucosa (7). A trial done in China suggests that regular consumption of cranberry juice can suppress H. pylori infection, a major cause of peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer (6). Cranberry juice is also used to prevent gum disease.  Studies suggest that cranberry constituents can prevent plaque formation and the development of gum disease by demonstrating anti-colonizing and anti-adhesion properties in plaque-causing bacteria (8) (9).  Extracts of cranberries have been shown to have anti-proliferative effects against several cancer cell lines in vitro including prostate (10) (11), liver (12), breast (13), colon (11) (14), and oral (11). There are MANY health benefits to eating raw beets along with raw cranberries. The sweet beets combine with the tart cranberries to make a taste bud pleasing drink. I take a beet cut it up and put it thru my blender with the raw cranberries (See Cranberry Protocol) and some liquid and make a drink of sorts out of it. It’s often not a real drink in that you must use a spoon to eat some of it. You probably will need to make the result palatable by adding orange or grape or something to taste.

Some of these blends of healthy foods can taste pretty bad with out some help. Get the family cook involved and ask her to please make it taste GOOD, somehow. Adding a raw Beet or carrot (See Carrot Protocol) to a blended otherwise too tart mixture will often sweeten the mixture. What ever you do, do NOT add sugar (See Sugar Protocol). Play with these mixtures and make them work by varying healthy ingredient amounts and/or adding something HEALTHY.

Cooked beets are very good also just not as good. Cooked beets along with most root vegetables, rate very high on the Glycemic index (See Glycemic Index Protocol). Thus I add a few grams of psyllium (See Psyllium Protocol) or flax (See Flax Protocol) fiber to my cooked beets to slow the release of glucose from the beets.
