“Scientists were first alerted
to the many benefits of fish oils in the early 1970s when Danish physicians
observed that Greenland Eskimos had an exceptionally low incidence of heart
disease and arthritis despite the fact that they consumed a high-fat diet.
Intensive research soon discovered that two of the fats (oils) they consumed in
large quantities, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid),
were actually highly beneficial. More recent research has established that fish
oils (EPA and DHA) play a crucial role in the prevention of atherosclerosis,
heart attack, depression, and cancer. Clinical trials have shown that fish oil
supplementation is effective in the treatment of many disorders including
rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, ulcerative colitis, and Reynaud’s disease.” Fish and Fish Oil “We found that while eating
baked or broiled fish was linked to a slower but more powerful heart beat and
lower blood pressure, eating fried fish was associated with heart muscle motion
abnormalities, a reduced ejection fraction, lower cardiac output, and higher

servings of omega-3-rich fish, such as salmon, sardines, cod, halibut or tuna,
each week confers significant protection against
sudden death from a heart attack.” “Fish oil supplements decrease triglycerides, LDL, and decrease

decreased fibrinogen with no adverse effects.” Saynor et al “A study tracking 1822 men
over 30 years found that those who ate the most fish, over an ounce per day,
cut their risk of cardiovascular disease by over 40% and their risk of heart
attack by about half.” Northwestern “A daily dose of fish
oil equal to seven ounces of salmon slashed triglycerides by more than 50%.” “Fish oil has also proven
to be beneficial in autoimmune joint conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis
(RA). While fish oil supplementation has not been used in clinical trials for
the treatment of psoriatic arthritis, it may be beneficial in treating this
condition, which has many similarities to RA, including a common underlying

acids of the omega 6 class found in corn oil and safflower oil may be involved
in the development of breast cancer, where as long chain omega 3 PUFAs found in
fish oil can inhibit breast cancer.” Bagga et al “In a prospective study of 35,298
Singapore Chinese women aged 45 – 74 years it was determined that high levels
of dietary Omega 3 EFA from marine sources (Fish Oil/shellfish) were
significantly associated with reduced risk of breast cancer. Furthermore women
who consumed low levels of Omega 3 EFA had a statistically significant
increased risk of breast cancer.” Gago-Dominguez et al “Seven days of dietary omega 3 oil
effectively reduced inflammatory cytokine formation and thromboxane A2
production by platelets in rats.”

fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish and fish oils and aid
in the prevention and management of heart diseases. This can help reduce
your risk of developing an abnormal heartbeat; which can lead to heart problems
and even sudden death. Greater than half of all sudden death from cardiac causes
have no history of cardiovascular disease. In fact,
over 40% of all heart attack victim autopsies show clear coronary vessels.
Clearly, there is much more going on than the simple "cholesterol
kills" hypothesis. It is interesting to note that the first and most common sign of cardiovascular disease in
post-menopausal women is death. Yes, death. In
other words, there are no signs or symptoms.” Doctor Michael Lam MD “Long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, specifically arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a major component of fish oil, are accumulated in the brain of the fetus and infant during the last trimester of pregnancy and the first year of life. DHA, in particular, has been found to be important for the development of the infant’s central nervous system and visual acuity. Although infants can, to a limited extent, convert alpha-linolenic acid to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and DHA, by far the majority of the infant’s need for DHA must be met through mother’s milk or fortified infant formula. Danish researchers suggest that the transfer of DHA from mother to infant via breast milk may significantly deplete the DHA status of the mother.” Danish Research “Several studies have established a
clear association between low levels of omega-3 fatty acids and depression.
Other studies have shown that countries with a high level of fish consumption
