Fish Oil Protocol

     

The MANY PROVEN benefits of Fish Oil for a WIDE variety of conditions are undeniable. IMO EVERYONE should be taking this wonderful supplement

“Scientists were first alerted to the many benefits of fish oils in the early 1970s when Danish physicians observed that Greenland Eskimos had an exceptionally low incidence of heart disease and arthritis despite the fact that they consumed a high-fat diet. Fish Oil

Fish Oil is found in the skin and fat layer just under the skin of many cold saltwater water fish, including salmon (See Salmon Protocol), sardines (See Sardine Protocol), mackerel, herring and tuna. There is little Fish Oil in the flesh of these fish. Fresh water fish contain NO beneficial Fish Oil.

Fish Oil supplies the EFAs EPA and DHA (See DHA and EPA Protocol) that many people do not get from their diet. EPA and DHA are essential to brain, and nerve function. Fish Oil will help most people with their omega 3 EFA  to omega 6 EFA (See Omega 6 EFA Protocol) ratio. Some People can convert omega 3 EFA to EPA and DHA. However many races, including northern Europeans, MANY of us, lack this ability

Fish Oil has been proven very helpful for many health problems such as HBP, excess blood coagulation, high fat levels (See Triglyceride Protocol), reducing chronic inflammation (See Inflammation Protocol), diabetes and is an often-overlooked solution to cardiac arrhythmia (See Arrhythmia Protocol) problems. MANY other health problems can be GREATLY helped by Fish Oil supplementation IMO this is because MOST people do not have a good source of EFAs (See EFA Protocol) and Fish Oil will supply SOME. This little bit is enough for your body to put the newly acquired EFAs where they are required most and your health condition improves or resolves.

   

A Few of Fish Oil’s MANY Proven Benefits

   

A study evaluated 14 patients with high triglycerides, low HDL, and normal LDL levels. Seven received 1 gm of immediate release niacin three times daily plus 3.4 gm of omega-3 fish oil. The other seven received a placebo.  After only seven weeks, the treated patients had fantastic results. Their triglycerides dropped an average of 52% and their HDL raised 33%. The placebo patients had an average rise in triglycerides of 10% and HDL rose by only 4%.

I take 2 grams of Fish Oil many days I do not eat salmon (See Salmon Protocol). Take at least 1000 mg of EPA + DHA (not just 1000 mg of fish oil) to achieve significant health benefits. Check your Fish Oil fact sheet to see how many grams of your Fish Oil this translates into.

If you are not getting enough good omega 6 EFA (See Omega 6 EFA Protocol) you should balance your fish oil with and equal amount of good omega 6 EFA such as avocados or borage oil. Keep both in the fridge and take them at the same time. Here is a product that combines both (See Multi Omega Oil Protocol). I like a product that balances fish oil with the other required oils.

Cautions

Caution: Fish oil in high doses (over 3 grams/day) can compromise your immune function unless you also take 200 to 400 IU of vitamin E/day. Make sure your omega 3 EFAs including fish oil at least equals your consumption of good omega 6 EFA. Keep all opened fish oil in the fridge.

Since Fish Oil thins the blood you need to be careful if you are taking a toxic drug that does this or if you have surgery scheduled. Talk with your doctor  about these potential problems. If you consume LOTS of the substances (See Blood Coagulation Assess) that thin your blood be careful of taking more than 2 grams of fish oil a day or so and monitor your bleeding to make sure you have not thinned your blood too much.
