Hormone Protocol

Please get to KNOW your rather esoteric major hormones; your life WILL Improve

“Cholesterol is vital to proper neurological function. It plays a key role in the formation of memory and the uptake of hormones in the brain, including serotonin, the body’s feel-good chemical. When cholesterol levels drop too low, the serotonin receptors cannot work. Cholesterol is the main organic molecule in the brain, constituting over half the dry weight of the cerebral cortex.”   Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, PhD   Note this is often why you feel so bad on an anti-cholesterol drug; your cholesterol it TOO LOW to transport the feel good hormone; get off this crap IMO

"First and foremost cholesterol is a vital component of every cell membrane on Earth. In other words, there is no life on Earth that can live without cholesterol. That will automatically tell you that, in of itself, it cannot be evil. In fact it is one of our best friends. We would not be here without it. No wonder lowering cholesterol too much increases one's risk of dying. Cholesterol also is a precursor to all of the steroid hormones. You cannot make estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and a host of other vital hormones without cholesterol.”      Doctor Don Rosedale, MD, widely considered to be the leading anti-aging doctor in the United States

"Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, have discovered that treatment with estrogen and progestin (the traditional synthetic prescription hormone replacement therapy, delivered in a combination of Premarin and Provera, also known as Prempro) increases the number of deaths from lung cancer. The UCLA researchers’ finding, based on data from the Women’s Health Initiative, noted that women who used Prempro were 71 percent more likely to die from lung cancer. Other potential dangers associated with the use of Prempro include an increased risk of breast cancer and an increased risk of clots that can lead to a stroke."   Doctor Apar Ganti, University of Nebraska, The Lancet Sept 2009

“Vitamin D is a potent antibiotic. Instead of directly killing bacteria and viruses, the steroid hormone under question increases the body's production of a remarkable class of proteins, called antimicrobial peptides. The 200 known antimicrobial peptides directly and rapidly destroy the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including the influenza virus, and play a key role in keeping the lungs free of infection.”  Doctor John Cannell Vitamin D Council

Breast cancer is twice as common (12.1 %) in women taking natural thyroid hormone or synthetic thyroid hormone as in women not taking thyroid hormones (6.2 %). The risk for breast cancer in women taking thyroid hormones increases with time. Women who had taken thyroid hormone for 15 years had a 19.5 % incidence of breast cancer while women who had been on thyroid hormone therapy for five years had only a 10 % incidence of breast cancer. This increase in breast cancer with time suggests that correction of a iodine deficiency might well eliminate the need for thyroid hormone and would also lower the incidence of breast cancer.”    Doctor James Howenstine, MD   Note consider long and hard before going on a "thyroid drug" often there are good non-hormone alternatives, like simple iodine and tyrosine

"Forget counting calories or fat grams. Instead, grow new brain cells by eating the right foods, supplements, teas and spices. Seven teaspoons of spices, seven tea beverages, the ability to combine high fiber meals with green proteins. Add a hormone component and presto! A whole new way of losing weight and living." Doctor Eric Braverman MD, Note the Doctor is describing a daily diet hormone component

“Most people have come to believe nutrition is divisible, and that a single substance will maintain vibrant health. The touting of calcium for the degenerative disease osteoporosis provides an excellent example. Every day the media, acting as proxy for the milk lobby, sells calcium as a magic bullet. Has it worked? Definitely for sales of milk, but for American health it has been a disaster. When you load up your system with excess calcium, you shut down magnesium's ability to activate thyrocalcitonin, a hormone that under normal circumstances would send calcium to your bones.”  William R. Quesnell, author of 'Minerals: The Essential Link to Health

“When you study the ingredients in "conventional" yogurt, you'll find that it's made from milk produced by a cow that's been confined to one space its whole life, pumped with antibiotics and hormones, and fed GMO grain. Ingredients can also include artificial sweeteners, chemical defoamers, processed sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, synthetic preservatives and the controversial thickener carrageenan.”   Conventional 'yogurt' is junk food disguised as health food

“Magnesium can be recycled through the kidneys, with a 95% recovery rate. However, alcohol promotes magnesium loss, as do diets high in animal protein, sugar, sodium, and calcium. High blood levels of adrenaline and cortisol (hormones released during stress) cause serious urinary magnesium losses. Excessive noise and heat stress also promotes urinary magnesium losses.“   Doctor Michael Lam MD

"Make certain you eat sufficient animal-based protein from organic or natural, free-range sources free of antibiotics, pesticides, and hormones each day. Organic eggs and cheese (cottage cheese, sour cream, etc. included) are great sources of protein. “Raw” milk and cream are excellent sources, too. Avoid all “low-fat” varieties. Eat a minimum of 8 oz. a day for a 150 lb. person. My research with clients around the world makes clear that animal-based protein should be your number one anticancer food choice after the EFA-containing oils."   Doctor Brian Peskin PhD

“Studies in mice have shown that flaxseed inhibits the growth and metastasis of human breast cancer (6), prostate cancer (7) and melanoma (8). Flaxseed also lowered tumor biomarkers in men with prostate cancer (9) and in patients with breast cancer (18). Flaxseed was also as effective as hormone replacement therapy in improving mild menopausal symptoms (10).”   Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center    Note many of these benefits are hormonal

“Oral contraceptives deplete nutrients more than any other class of drugs,” Ross Pelton, author of the new book, The Pill Problem, says. “The hormones in these drugs are very strong chemicals. I don’t believe nature ever intended for women to put these hormones in their mouths or to have them introduced in their gastrointestinal tracts. Once there, they cause irritation that heavily interferes with the absorption of nutrients.”   Ross Pelton Pharm CCN

“The blood level of cholesterol usually remains normal, (that is, below 200 units) except when total stress produces blocks to the usual metabolic pathways in which cholesterol is used to make various healthy homeostatic (balancing) hormones. In general, under stress, testosterone, estrogen, and even thyroid hormones decrease while cholesterol increases.”   Doctor Norman Shealy   Note read this three times before going on a anti-cholesterol drug

“DHEA is a major marker for age and health. Its major effect in a coping person is anti-stress, meaning that the increased cortisone produced by stress is subsequently normally brought back down to baseline by a rise in DHEA.” Doctor Norman Shealy

"With the cessation of 80% of hormonal production, a peri-menopausal woman suffers from estrogen, progesterone and testosterone deficiency. The replacement of estrogen alone does not correct an absent sex drive, loss of muscle tone and general lack of mental get-up-and-go." Doctor Edward Lichten, MD, PC, Note women must assure the testosterone and Pregnenolone feed stocks to assure good hormone production

“Exercise stimulates thyroid gland secretions and increases tissue sensitivity to thyroid hormone. Many of the health benefits of exercise may be related to this improved thyroid function.” Murray & Pizzorno

"A group of scientists from UCLA published a remarkable paper in the prestigious journal, Nature. The UCLA group confirmed two other recent studies, showing that a naturally occurring steroid hormone - a hormone most of us take for granted - was, in effect, a potent antibiotic. Instead of directly killing bacteria and viruses, the steroid hormone under question increases the body's production of a remarkable class of proteins, called antimicrobial peptides. The 200 known antimicrobial peptides directly and rapidly destroy the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including the influenza virus, and play a key role in keeping the lungs free of infection. The steroid hormone that showed these remarkable antibiotic properties was plain old vitamin D."  Doctor John Cannell MD

“Nettle root may increase free testosterone by binding with the testosterone binding hormone.” German Study

“It was also curious because hCG was a natural hormone needed to maintain a pregnancy. However, when combined with a tetanus toxoid carrier, it stimulated the formation of antibodies against hCG, rendering a woman incapable of maintaining a pregnancy, a form of concealed abortion. Similar reports of vaccines laced with hCG hormones came from the Philippines and Nicaragua. The Comite Pro Vida organisation confirmed several other curious facts about the WHO program. The tetanus vaccine had been given only to women in the child-bearing ages between 15-45. It was not given to men or children.”   Massive Brazilian Vaccination Raises Suspicions of Covert Sterilization Program

“Sleep is vital to health maintenance. Sleep stimulates the anterior pituitary to produce growth hormone. Without deep stages of sleep inadequate growth hormone is secreted and soft tissue healing is inadequate. A natural way to increase sleep and improve deep sleep is aerobic exercise.”    Doctor Ross Hauser MD

“Sage has been used since ancient times to stop hot flashes. And it works.” Doctor Nan Fuchs PhD, Note this demonstrates sage's estrogenic effects; watch out if you are reducing estrogen as most men are

"There is compelling evidence that sage may be of value with diabetes for whom the hormone insulin does not work as efficiently as it should. Laboratory studies indicate that sage may boost insulin's action."   Prevention

"Buckwheat contains a variety of compounds called flavonoids that have been shown in studies to help block the spread of cancer. Quercetin and rutin make it difficult for cancer-promoting hormones to attach to cells and they may be able to reduce damage to DNA. Buckwheat is rich in magnesium, zinc and copper."   Prevention   Note this combination appears to be made to help prevent the hormone related cancers

"Many of the known risk factors that underlie atherosclerosis have been shown to promote arterial calcification (Arteriosclerosis) . These include elevated LDL cholesterol, elevated homocysteine, diabetes, kidney failure, chronic inflammation, and oxidative stress.33,41-55 Additional calcification contributors include low magnesium (a natural calcium channel blocker), hormone imbalance, and excess blood calcium (caused by hyperparathyroidism).56-66 An underappreciated, major reason our vascular system turns to stone (calcifies) as we age, however, is inadequate intake of vitamin K. As you’ll read next, a low blood level of vitamin K2 causes a protein in the vascular wall to bind calcium to arteries, heart valves, and other soft tissues."    Turning to Stone

“Iodine deficiency has adverse effects in all stages of development but is most damaging to the developing brain. In addition to regulating many aspects of growth and development, thyroid hormone is important for myelination of the central nervous system, which is most active before and shortly after birth (2, 6).”  Linus Pauling Institute on Iodine

"Breast cancer is twice as common (12.1 %) in women taking natural thyroid hormone or synthetic thyroid hormone as in women not taking thyroid hormones (6.2 %). The risk for breast cancer in women taking thyroid hormones increases with time. Women who had taken thyroid hormone for 15 years had a 19.5 % incidence of breast cancer while women who had been on thyroid hormone therapy for five years had only a 10 % incidence of breast cancer. This increase in breast cancer with time suggests that correction of a iodine deficiency might well eliminate the need for thyroid hormone and would also lower the incidence of breast cancer.”    Doctor James Howenstine, MD

Enig, PhD   Note this is often why you feel so bad on a anti-cholesterol drug; your cholesterol it TOO LOW to transport the feel good hormone; get off this crap IMO

"Have you resigned yourself to gaining weight because it “runs in the family”? Bad genetics doesn’t have to catch up with you. You can change your genes simply by making a few adjustments to your diet. When you eat certain foods, nutrients release hormones that switch your genes on and off. And the nutrients in low-glycemic foods turn off genes that lead to weight gain and diseases that may follow. We found this out when we studied the response to the glycemic index (GI) in people who have metabolic syndrome.”   Doctor Al Sears MD, D Ornish, MJ Magbanua and G Weidner et al, Note our genes are DYNAMIC live well and you IMPROVE your genetic expression.

“Bones and teeth certainly do require calcium—as well as phosphorus and magnesium, but without adequate amounts of the latter, calcium will not be deposited in these hard tissues, and the structures will not be sound. When you load up your system with excess calcium you shut down magnesium's ability to activate thyrocalcitonin, a hormone that under normal circumstances would send calcium to your bones." Instead of providing benefits to the body, the displaced calcium actually becomes toxic …Numerous studies, in fact, have established the fact that it is dietary magnesium, not calcium, (and certainly not fluoride) that creates glassy hard tooth enamel that resists decay, and strong and resilient bones."   William Quesnell,  Minerals: the Essential Link to Health

"Coffee is an adrenal stimulator. So are white sugar, a leopard in your living room, and the morning commute. Stress like from modern, empty foods, toxic exposure, and emotional worry - you know the list - which send constant messages to the adrenal glands. After awhile the adrenal glands get fried, depleted, out of gas, used up. As the most evolved system in the universe, the body's got back-up plans for everything. And the first of the Plan B's for spent adrenal glands is to convert another hormone into adrenal hormone, thereby taking the burden off the adrenals themselves. Guess which hormone is first on the list for this understudy duty? Right: progesterone. Remember, progesterone is the precursor, or basic raw material, for all the steroid hormones. So for many women who are really stressed and have been for years, they are relying in large measure upon alternative sources of adrenal hormones. With progesterone being the first of the volunteers to be changed into adrenal hormones, this leaves little or no progesterone left to perform its primary function, which was what? Right again, to maintain the dynamic balance with estrogen."    The Doctor Within, Note this reference to progesterone as being the hormonal feedstock for steroid hormones is incorrect but this is an excellent document; the feedstock is Pregnenolone

“Maintaining hormonal balance is a key factor in preventing cancer and reversing hormone sensitive cancers. Cancers such as breast and prostate cancer are closely linked to estrogen dominance syndrome. Normalization of estrogen in our body can be achieved naturally with phyto-estrogen from food such as cruciferous vegetables, and supplements such as DIM. Natural progesterone cream that counterbalance the estrogen should also be considered. Melatonin is a natural hormone and a strong-antioxidant. Its use should be considered for many cancer patients, especially those with breast cancer.” Doctor Michael Lam MD   Note IMO most adults over 40 or so should be using melatonin for any sleep problems et al; find a reason your melatonin production is almost zero

"The milk from injected cows has more pus, more antibiotics, more bovine growth hormone, and most importantly, more insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). IGF-1 is a huge risk factor for common cancers and its high levels in this drugged milk is why so many medical organizations and hospitals have taken stands against rbGH. A former Monsanto scientist told me that when three of his Monsanto colleagues evaluated rbGH safety and discovered the elevated IGF-1 levels, even they refused to drink any more milk — unless it was organic and therefore untreated.”  Health Freedom Alliance, Note rbGH is recombinant bovine growth hormone

"Each year, 263,000 men perish from sudden cardiac arrest in America. It remains a leading cause of death.1 A recent finding (corroborated by previous published studies) indicates a substantial percentage of these deaths can be avoided if men just modestly restore youthful hormone balance, i.e. increase deficient testosterone and reduce excess estradiol.4,79-82 "   Surprising Factor Behind Sudden Cardiac Arrest

"Grain-fed cows don't just produce inferior meat. They're also pumped full of hormones and antibiotics before being trucked off to massive, filthy slaughterhouses where germs and disease-causing bacteria are routinely packed with the meat. So when it comes to what's on your table, don't go for weekly specials... visit a good butcher for the best, fattiest cuts of steak from grass-fed cows raised on small farms.”   Doctor William Douglass MD

“Individuals with macular degeneration tend to have low blood levels of the hormone DHEA as well as a higher risk of cardiovascular mortality.” Life Extension

"In a study published in Journal of Proteome Research the Lausanne based researchers said their results show that eating dark chocolate daily reduced stress hormone levels in those who had high anxiety levels. The authors maintain that there is growing pool of evidence pointing to the potential health implications of dark chocolate constituents, with the flavonoids in cocoa linked to better cardiovascular health through the maintenance of low blood pressure, improved endothelial function, and a reduction in thrombotic, oxidative and inflammatory states."   Dark Chocolate Helps Reduce Stress   Note the less toxic powdered milk and toxic sugar the better

"I have never thought that the cholesterol theory of atherosclerosis was true. I heard about it for the first time in 1962 shortly after getting my MD. My biochemical knowledge was still intact at that time and I knew that cholesterol was one of the most important molecules in your body, indispensable for the building of your cells and for producing stress and sex hormones as well as vitamin D. The idea that cholesterol in the blood should kill us if its concentration is a little higher than normal, as they wrote in the Framingham paper, seemed to me just as silly as to claim that yellow fingers cause lung cancer.”   Doctor Uffe Ravnskov, MD, PhD

“Studies in mice have shown that flaxseed inhibits the growth and metastasis of human breast cancer (6), prostate cancer (7) and melanoma (8). Flaxseed also lowered tumor biomarkers in men with prostate cancer (9) and in patients with breast cancer (18). Flaxseed was also as effective as hormone replacement therapy in improving mild menopausal symptoms (10).” Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

“Scientists have discovered that vitamin D effectively blocks development of MS in animals. When the biologically active, hormone form of vitamin D was administered to animals in a laboratory, the disorder was prevented. Conversely, a deficiency of vitamin D tended to increase the animals' susceptibility to the induced disease. When animals were given vitamin D after developing the disease, progression of symptoms was blocked. When vitamin D supplementation was withdrawn, the disease resumed.”  Cantorna et al 1996

"Part of the reason for depression is related to mercury's effect of reducing the development of posterior pituitary hormone (oxytocin). Low levels of pituitary function are associated with depression and suicidal thoughts, and appear to be a major factor in suicide of teenagers and other vulnerable groups. As a profession, dentists rank highest in suicide. Autopsy studies in Sweden showed that the pituitary glands of dentists hold 800 times more mercury than people who were not in dentistry. Suicidal thoughts are not limited to dental personnel though. Suicide is close to the number-one cause of death in teenagers."   Mercury Filling Toxicity

The Hormone Construction Cascade

“Steroid hormone, any of a group of hormones that belong to the class of chemical compounds known as steroids; they are secreted by three “steroid glands”—the adrenal cortex, testes, and ovaries—and during pregnancy by the placenta. All steroid hormones are derived from cholesterol. They are transported through the bloodstream to the cells of various target organs where they carry out the regulation of a wide range of physiological functions.”   Steroid Hormone

Image result for steroid hormone pathway

Cholesterol is the MAJOR feedstock for ALL your hormone building. Sunshine is the major source of vitamin D which has MANY hormone-like functions in your body. Vitamin K has many hormone-like functions, Make sure you get PLENTY of these three hormone building blocks.

Then examine individually each hormone you have doubts about to make sure you can construct the hormone sufficiently. For example the hormone testosterone is very important for both men and women and it is rather simple to assure its orthometric construction. If you are a woman you may want to examine and assure progesterone. The PMS Protocol and Prostate Protocol will bring a lot of individual hormones into focus. IMO we all should consider at least a little (500 mcg on up) Melatonin once we reach 40 or so. likewise Wild Yam and its natural Pregnenolone should be considered by most of us over the age of 60 or so.

The hormone pregnenolone is an alternative precursor pathway for all hormone construction. Pregnenolone usually falls off about the age of 60 or so. IMO you should pay attention to this negative effect of aging; wild yam supplements can safely supply pregnenolone. You can also directly supplement bioidentical pregnenolone BUT IMO this involves too much risk without professional help; and even with it often; the natural pregnenolone in Wild Yam should work for most of us.

Cholesterol is the MAJOR feedstock for ALL your hormones

Vitamin D acts as a hormone

Vitamin K acts as a hormone

Some Hormones or Hormone Sensitive Protocols

As you can see from the number and breadth of the above hormone or hormone related protocols, hormones play a very important role in your health. Hormones are very SMALL messenger molecules that visit EVERY cell in your body and instruct the cell as to what actions to take. There are herbs and foods that have hormone like properties, we should be aware of these and make sure they are not adversely interfering with our natural hormones. For example much of our milk is produced from cows fed with a very pernicious bovine growth hormone. This milk and its products is not fit to be ingested IMO and that of many hormone experts.

IMO get familiar with hormones, both their good and bad aspects. Natural hormones and herbs with small amounts of natural hormones or hormone like properties can be valuable tools.  On the other hand all the xenohormones and many phytohormones in commercial use can very negatively affect your health. Learn where to find these phytohormones and xenohormones and how to avoid their use and especially ingestion as well as transdermal and other acquisition. A great example of this is Commercial Chicken which is LOADED with estrogen and must be avoided by almost all of us.

Hormones are a Type of Signal Transducer

"In multicellular organisms (eukaryotes), the internal mechanisms that control and coordinate basic biochemical reactions are connected to other cells by means of nerves and chemical “messengers.” The overall process of receiving these messages and converting the information they contain into metabolic and physiological effects is known as signal transduction. Many of the chemical messengers are lipids and are thus of special interest here. There are several types of external messengers. The first of these are hormones such as insulin and glucagon and the lipids known collectively as steroid hormones. A second class of lipid molecules is eicosanoids, which are produced in tissues and elicit cellular responses close to their site of origin. They are produced in very low levels and are turned over very rapidly (in seconds). Hormones have sites of action that are remote from their cells of origin and remain in the circulation for long periods (minutes to hours)."

Hormones are very SMALL messenger molecules that visit EVERY cell in your body and instruct the cell as to what actions to take.

Assuring Good Hormone Production

Cholesterol is the MAJOR feedstock for ALL your hormones

Learn just what LDL IS and most of your Cholesterol problems are solved. You likely have NO Cholesterol problems; you have a propaganda problem.

“The blood level of cholesterol usually remains normal, (that is, below 200 units) except when total stress produces blocks to the usual metabolic pathways in which cholesterol is used to make various healthy homeostatic (balancing) hormones. In general, under stress, testosterone, estrogen, and even thyroid hormones decrease while cholesterol increases.”   Doctor Norman Shealy   Note read this three times before going on an anti-cholesterol drug

Lipid transport and delivery systems existed in the earliest animals including insects. Our lipoprotein systems are not that dissimilar [ref 1].”    Note this is a HIGHLY recommended article you should READ to understand lipid transport

"If you believe that you can ward off death by altering the amount of cholesterol in your blood, whether by diet or drugs... you have been taken in by commercial interest groups who are more interested in your money than in your life."  Edward Pinckney, PhD editor of JAMA ( [14] p 262)

“Among the more than 20,000 patients who have come to my clinic, only four or five of them truly needed cholesterol-lowering drugs.”  Doctor Joseph Mercola

Please never forget this simple fact; Cholesterol is REQUIRED for hormone production and LIFE. OBVIOUSLY anti-cholesterol Drugs are a horrible idea for the VAST majority of us. Please reject this anti-cholesterol insanity offhand AND assure sufficient cholesterol; not hard to do as long as you IGNORE all the anti-cholesterol BS in mainstream Industrial Medicine.

DHEA is A Major Hormone Feedstock: Please Assure

IMO it is VERY important to use every means to bring up your DHEA levels after you pass 40 or so

http://www.dheafertility.com/img/DHEAFertility/DHEA_Fertility_Graph.jpg

“DHEA is the most abundant of all steroids and is released from the adrenal glands. DHEA is involved in the manufacturing of testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and corticosteroids. The decline of DHEA parallels that of growth hormone. By age 65, the body makes only 10-20% of DHEA that was made at age 20. It has been shown in animal studies to act as an agent of anti-obesity, anti-cancer, anti-autoimmune disease, anti-stress, anti-infectious disease. In other words, it is an all around anti-aging drug. It may also boost the function of the brain as the brain tissue contains 6 times more DHEA than any other tissue in the body.”  Doctor Michael Lam MD

"Levels of DHEA and DHEA-s in older men strongly predict death by CVD."  Doctor Claes Ohlsson University of Gothenburg

“DHEA is a major marker for age and health. Its major effect in a coping person is anti-stress, meaning that the increased cortisone produced by stress is subsequently normally brought back down to baseline by a rise in DHEA.”   Doctor Norman Shealy

“Individuals with macular degeneration tend to have low blood levels of the hormone DHEA as well as a higher risk of cardiovascular mortality.” Life Extension

“DHEA is a major marker for age and health. Its major effect in a coping person is anti-stress, meaning that the increased cortisone produced by stress is subsequently normally brought back down to baseline by a rise in DHEA.” Doctor Norman Shealy

“Decreases in DHEA levels have been linked to a number of chronic and degenerative diseases including cancer, coronary artery disease, depression, stress disorders and neurological dysfunctioning.” Straub et al

After age 40 or so your DHEA normally declines quite rapidly. It NEED NOT; but you must work to keep your DHEA levels up.

Testosterone in a Hormone Feedstock: Please Assure, yes Women too

"The androgens are the male sex hormones. The principal androgen, testosterone, is produced primarily by the testes and in lesser amounts by the adrenal cortex and (in women) by the ovaries. Androgens are primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of reproductive function and stimulation of the secondary sex characteristics in the male. Androgens also have an anabolic (synthesizing and constructive, rather than degradative) function in stimulating the production of skeletal muscles and bone as well as red blood cells. To enhance the anabolic activity of androgens without increasing their masculinizing ability, anabolic steroids were developed. Though originally intended to combat diseases marked by wasting, these synthetic hormones have been abused by individuals desiring to increase their muscle mass, such as athletes seeking to gain a competitive advantage. Overdosing has been linked to serious side effects, including infertility and coronary heart disease."   Steroid Hormone

“Botanical agents such as maca, muira puama, chrysin, nettle, ginger and Norway spruce lignans can help alleviate many of the health complaints associated with male aging such as fatigue, low libido, poor memory and prostate enlargement. These botanicals may work in part by enhancing free testosterone levels while blocking the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. It is possible to slow or reverse changes associated with the age-associated decline in circulating free testosterone while counteracting aging-related increases in estrogen levels, thus enhancing overall vitality and health”  Life Extension

“Low testosterone is an independent risk factor for developing aggressive coronary artery disease.” Philips et al

"Testosterone is recognized as the hormone of desire: it makes muscles for boys and turns them into sexually functional men. But testosterone is very important to a woman, too. She produces increased amounts of this hormone in her puberty, because testosterone is the precursor to estrogen. Without testosterone, there would be no "woman."  Doctor Edward Lichten, MD, PC

Testosterone is a very important feedstock in many hormone construction pathways; as well as an important hormone itself. Note testosterone is very important to women as well as men.

Estrogen can be Difficult For both Women and Men

"Estrogens are one of the two types of female sex hormones. They are secreted mainly by the ovaries and in smaller amounts by the adrenal glands and (in men) by the testes. Estradiol is the most potent of the estrogens. Functioning similarly to androgens, the estrogens promote the development of the primary and secondary female sex characteristics; they also stimulate linear growth and skeletal maturation. In other mammals these hormones have been shown to precipitate estrus (heat). The ovarian production of estrogen plummets during menopause."   Steroid Hormone

"You cannot make estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and a host of other vital hormones without cholesterol.”      Doctor Don Rosedale, MD, widely considered to be the leading anti-aging doctor in the United States

“Melatonin blocks estrogen receptors on breast cells, stopping them from proliferating in response to estrogen and other factors that promote tumor growth. Melatonin also protects breast cells against chemical carcinogens, free radical damage, cortisol-induced damage, and non-estrogen dependent cellular changes that lead to breast cancer. Low dose melatonin therapy should be considered for any breast cancer patient on remission, and high dose for those with active disease.” Doctor Michael Lam MD

Were I a woman I would become somewhat of an expert. Breast cancer alone requires this. The estrogen issue is not too complicated but it is BROAD and thus requires the integration of many of your health aspects. This is a GOOD thing, your health will benefit vastly IMO. Remember EVERYTHING is connected. Make those connections; use the salubrious NATURAL tools and REJECT the toxic drugs.

Men have a constant potential problem with estrogen dominance and should work to obviate or correct it IMO.

HGH is a Major Hormone

Source Doctor Mercola MD

“We have found ways of getting our bodies to release HGH often at levels of our youth. This method avoids virtually all of the side effects of taking HGH supplements.” Doctor Ronald Klatz

"Naturally supporting the body's own endogenous growth hormone production using targeted lifestyle and nutritional strategies may provide a safe method of harnessing the vigor and vitality associated with youthful growth normal levels." Life Extension

"Studies indicate HGH deficiency is relevant to health and responsible for early onset of degenerative disease, or even premature death. The connection between HGH deficiency and disease is well established. This knowledge is leading to a paradigm shift in orthodox medical diagnosis and treatment."   Doctor Richard Marsh MD

"HGH production most certainly declines after 30, but there is an even more rapid decline, which speeds up aging, in the body's ability to release and use the HGH it produces. There is no need to inject HGH what is required is a method to release the body's own HGH. Growth hormone releasers which consist mainly of amino acids stimulate the receptors on the pituitary and hypothalamus glands and help release the body's stores of growth hormone."   Doctor L. E. Dorman MD

Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is a natural body product whose release falls off as we age. Apparently our actual production of HGH remains constant thru our lives. By age forty we have only about one quarter of the HGH in our blood as we had at twenty. This lower HGH level contributes to functional aging. IMO everyone over forty should work to improve their HGH levels. People under forty normally need not usually worry about their HGH levels. IMO you do NOT want to take injected HGH itself. This has proved disastrous. You want to encourage your body to release its own HGH (See Hormone Supplements Protocol).

Insulin a Hormone we Must Master

“People who go on the Paleo diet can cure their [Sugar] diabetes in TWO WEEKS.”   Doctor Robert Lustig MD Note sure they are eating NO sugar and simple carbs

Note a low fat diet will re-enforce this sugar addiction. Fat will help supply the steady glucose the lack of which can cause the sugar cravings.

Very simple and easily achievable, Bottom line, master SUGAR and simple carbs and you have almost mastered insulin.

PMS is Mainly a Hormone Problem

"The real cause for PMS is simply this: Your hormones become unbalanced, your estrogen levels increase and progesterone levels decrease, either relatively or absolutely."   How to Eliminate PMS in 5 Simple Steps

Women MUST IMO become very interested in the academic principles of the ovulation cycle AND apply those principals to their PMS problems, if any, and all the rest of female hormone health.

Progesterone a KEY to PMS and Women's Health, MEN too

"Progestins, the most important of which is progesterone, are the other type of female sex hormone and are named for their role in maintaining pregnancy (pro-gestation). Estrogens and progestins are secreted cyclically during menstruation. During the menstrual cycle, the ruptured ovarian follicle (the corpus luteum) of the ovary produces progesterone, which renders the uterine lining receptive to the implantation of a fertilized ovum. Should this occur, the placenta becomes the main source of progesterone, without which the pregnancy would terminate. As pregnancy progresses, placental production of progesterone increases, and these high doses suppress ovulation, preventing a second conception. The contraceptive quality of progesterone led to the development of structurally modified progestins and estrogens—the oral contraceptives known as birth-control pills, used by women to prevent unwanted pregnancy."   Steroid Hormone

Doctor John Lee reported significant increase in bone density through natural progesterone. Natural progesterone is an antagonist of estrogen.    Doctor Michael Lam MD   Note here it is progesterone and estrogen BALANCE each other and help to balance ALL your hormones

"Most people believe that progesterone is a feminizing hormone. However, the male body actually relies on progesterone to sustain masculinity."   Men Need Progesterone   Note just as females require testosterone to be female; yeah life is strange

"Low progesterone can lead to relative estrogen dominance. This is a recipe for heavy periods, extreme moods swings and irritability, acne, breast tenderness, insomnia, weight gain…and all those other unwanted period problems."   Supplements for PMS

Progesterone is a hormone required by both men and women. Like all other hormones it needs to be in balance; a healthy thyroid, good cholesterol, among other things, are required for this. Progesterone is REQUIRED to balance your estrogen. For both men and women this balancing of estrogen is an important facet of modern health. Both men and women OFTEN have excess estrogen and synthetic estrogen. Post and peri menopausal women often have too little estrogen as well as too little progesterone and testosterone.

Adaptogens are Hormone Friendly Foods and Supplements

"Radishes contain raphanin (mainly sulfur),which is responsible for keeping the production of thyroid and calcitonin (a peptide hormone) in normal balance. With proper amounts of raphanin circulating in blood plasma, the thyroid won't under or over produce these two hormones. This makes balancing the thyroid, treating thyroid diseases as well as Graves disease a small miracle of the tangy, little red radish. The sulfur amino acids in radish juice help break up fat deposits in the liver as an added bonus."   RADISHES AND THE THYROID

"Prolonged fatigue—the kind that interferes with daily work, home life, and pleasure affects up to one-third of US adults. If not dealt with, it can progress to full-blown chronic fatigue syndrome. There is no safe, acceptable pharmacological cure for prolonged fatigue, leaving sufferers to live with poor quality of life and often leading to significant anxiety and depression. In traditional medical systems of Eastern Europe and Asia, such symptoms have long been treated with extracts of Rhodiola rosea, which is known as an adaptogen."   Rhodiola Quickly Combats Fatigue

"Adaptogenic herbs help you adapt to stress by balancing your body’s response to stress. They can help increase, decrease or harmonize your cortisol and other stress hormone levels."   Supplements for PMS

Adaptogenic foods and herbs, such as radishes and rhodiola, help the body withstand stress. As we know Stress affects many hormones in a very negative way and reducing stress will certainly improve you hormone situation in many manners.

In a broader sense adaptogens help the body ADAPT to many situations. These adaptogens have for thousands of years been known as "panaceas"  that can be used to prevent and treat a wide variety of health problems.

AIDS and Hormones

"Weaponized Mycoplasma is introduced into your body. Your cholesterol is depleted by the mycoplasma which feeds on cholesterol. When your cholesterol is depleted, the production of hormones in your endocrine system is altered because it is cholesterol from which your secretory glands manufacture hormones. Your altered endocrine system in turn compromises your immune system."

“We took 12 people diagnosed with full blown AIDS, each with at least 13 out of 30 AIDS diagnosing symptoms, at the Tri State Healing Center of NY. An immune building and detoxification regimen was administered under medical supervision. At the end of 14 months all 12 out of 12 were completely normal with no symptoms of AIDS.”   Doctor Gary Null PhD   Note in those 14 months the weaponized mycoplasma was eliminated from the patient's bodies and no new weaponized mycoplasma was introduced

If you take the considerable time necessary to understand AIDS it is fully apparent that cholesterol, the chief hormone feedstock is one of the KEYS to AIDS. Thus I believe if you have AIDS, eating two - four or so eggs/day may well extend your life immensely.

Understand how AIDS operates and you can CURE your AIDS; many people have. The cholesterol may well keep you alive until you solve YOUR AIDS problem.

The AIDS problem is not able to be politically solved, today; just as the "vaccination" problem is not able to be solved politically, today. AIDS and VACCINATION are mainly NWO POLITICALLY induced problems; they are not health care problems except in a NWO politically dependent sense.

We can change this.

UNDERSTAND how AIDS and VACCINATION operate medically and you can rise above the POLITICALLY correct medical disinformation and solve YOUR problems with these two very pernicious KEY and emblematic health problems.

Melatonin a Hormone (Supplement?) Required After 40 or so IMO

http://www.benbest.com/nutrceut/mela_age.jpg

Melatonin by Ben Best

"If you focus on just a few hormones insulin, thyroid, sex hormones, melatonin, growth and cortisol all the rest come into balance." Doctor Mark Hyman

“Melatonin is an antioxidant shown to be very effective in reducing oxidative damage to the central nervous system. Melatonin stimulates several antioxidant enzymes including glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase.” Reiter et al

“Obviously, melatonin’s ability to protect DNA from oxidative damage has implications for many types of cancer, including leukemia, considering that DNA damage due to free radicals is believed to be the initial oncostatic event in a majority of human cancers.”  Cerutti et al., 1994

"Melatonin is a natural hormone and a strong-antioxidant. Its use should be considered for many cancer patients, especially those with breast cancer.”    Doctor Michael Lam MD   Note IMO most adults over 40 or so should be using melatonin for any sleep problems et al; find a reason your melatonin production is almost zero

Fasting a Very Hormone Friendly REQUIRED GOOD HABIT IMO

If you are serious about extending your HEALTHSPAN you will FAST OFTEN

"When the body burns its own fat, as it must do on a diet with insufficient carbohydrates for glycolysis, ketones are produced by the liver and circulated in the blood. It is known that ketones can shut down an enzyme called phosphofructokinase. This enzyme plays a critical role in glycolysis, a process that is the only source of energy for cancer cells. Without sufficient energy, [Cancer] cells cannot produce sufficient ATP. This creates a build-up of free radicals that can lead to apoptosis. Normal cells are not affected in the same manner because they derive most of their daily energy needs from the Krebs cycle.  See Diagram of ketogenic metabolism here"    Cancer and Sugar's role in it   Note here we see very good evidence that Fasting is REQUIRED for a healthy life. I have long suspected this; here it is.

Intermittent fasting has many of the same benefits, including dramatically boosting HGH and optimizing insulin- and leptin sensitivity, which I’ll discuss more toward the end of this article.”    Study: Both Exercise and Whey Augment Human Growth Hormone Production, Which Can Keep Your Body Young

Few things are more certain in health IMO. Fasting is REQUIRED.

Please visit the Fasting Protocol until you UNDERSTAND this simple truth. It will not take long. Fasting can be as simple as missing one of the horrible fast food disasters we often endure and waiting to eat until good food is available, AT HOME.

Ketogenic Diet Hormone Benefits

What 6 Months of Eating Keto Did For My Hormone Problems

Here is a woman who never attended Medical School and was not propagandized. She solved her many hormone related health problems herself in conjunction with a good Naturopathic Doctor. Not a bad plan.

“Thyroid hormones are made from iodine and the amino acid tyrosine.” Murray & Pizzorno, Note here is a KEY for good health. I make SURE I get PLENTY of BOTH

As we grow older our hormone production tends to drop. If you are aware of this and COMBAT it  your life will improve in an immense fashion.

The answer to menopause problems, depression, PMS and all the other hormone related problems due to your blood hormone levels decreasing is not drugs but to bring up YOUR BALANCED hormone levels by supplying what your body needs to produce your hormones yourself. IMO eat plenty of eggs to assure your hormone cholesterol feed-stocks are high. Please don't even think about the world of toxic anti-cholesterol DRUGS lurking in your friendly doctors office.

Erectile Dysfunction and Other SERIOUS Problems Improved with Hormone Promoting Amino Acid Mixture

"Erectile problems may show up about three years before a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack or stroke."   Life Extension

"Erectile dysfunction is an early symptom of artery disease. It can show up as a warning sign up to three years before a heart attack or stroke. Compelling research demonstrates that certain nutrients boost levels of nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and enables efficient blood flow—the key to both overall vascular health and male sexual function."   Enhance Erectile Function by Improving Vascular Health

My Testosterone and HGH Enhancing Mixture of Amino Acids can help boost your LIBEDO, erection, hormone problems and much more. Please make SURE to do this for MANY reasons even if you are having no sexual function or desire problems. This mixture is taken on awakening on an empty stomach. In a few days to a week or two you may well be good to go in the bedroom night or day. Note both men and women need testosterone and HGH and all the other hormones this daily drink can help provide.

Avoid For Good Hormone Production

“Cholesterol is vital to proper neurological function. It plays a key role in the formation of memory and the uptake of hormones in the brain, including serotonin, the body’s feel-good chemical. When cholesterol levels drop too low, the serotonin receptors cannot work. Cholesterol is the main organic molecule in the brain, constituting over half the dry weight of the cerebral cortex.”   Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, PhD   Note this is often why you feel so bad on a anti-cholesterol drug; your cholesterol is TOO LOW to transport the feel good hormone; get off this crap IMO

This increase in breast cancer with time suggests that correction of a iodine deficiency might well eliminate the need for thyroid hormone and would also lower the incidence of breast cancer.”    Doctor James Howenstine, MD

"Naturally supporting the body's own endogenous growth hormone production using targeted lifestyle and nutritional strategies may provide a safe method of harnessing the vigor and vitality associated with youthful growth normal levels."    Life Extension

“The problem with HRT is that it’s neither replacement nor therapy. What I mean is this: The pharmaceutical products billed as HRT aren’t hormones at all. And by taking them, you are not actually replacing anything. Real hormones are available. They’re called bio-identical hormones. They are safe when used appropriately. And they are very inexpensive. But being inexpensive is a problem. Big drug companies don’t produce bio-identical hormones. There’s no money in it. But that hasn’t stopped them from claiming they have “replacement hormones.”    Doctor Al Sears MD

  • Xenoestrogens   MAJOR disruptor of hormones and life

Required For Good Hormone Production

"Cholesterol also is a precursor to all of the steroid hormones. You cannot make estrogen, testosterone, cortisone, and a host of other vital hormones without cholesterol.”      Doctor Don Rosedale, MD, widely considered to be the leading anti-aging doctor in the United States

"What if a supplement could turn back the clock and help restore the quality of life we once had? Researchers have shown that a naturally occurring hormone called pregnenolone may be just what we need. Pregnenolone is a precursor to the body’s other naturally occurring hormones, including dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, and cortisol.1 Pregnenolone is synthesized directly from cholesterol and is responsible for countless functions in our bodies. By the age of 75, however, the body’s production of this valuable hormone has declined by as much as 60%,2 and levels of the hormones for which Pregnenolone is a precursor have also diminished."   Pregnenolone   Note you may want to consider a little Pregnenolone supplementation after 60 or so

"Today, growing numbers of men and women are correcting hormone imbalances using bioidentical hormones. Doctors are becoming increasingly adept at restoring youthful levels of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and sometimes DHEA, using molecularly identical forms of these hormones. All too often, however, they leave pregnenolone out of their hormone regimens. Does it seem appropriate to replace only some of the hormones that have declined, when in fact all hormones have important functions in the body? After all, youthful adults have optimal levels of all hormones, not just a few. Supplemental pregnenolone is molecularly identical to the pregnenolone that the body makes naturally.3 The raw material to create pregnenolone comes from wild yams (Dioscorea villosa), which are grown in Mexico and other tropical regions throughout the world."   Pregnenolone

“Thyroid hormones are made from iodine and the amino acid tyrosine.” Murray & Pizzorno

“An estimated 1.2 million osteoporotic fractures occur annually and more than half occur in the vertebrae. The incidence of osteoporosis is directly correlated to testosterone production in men and estrogen and progesterone production in women.” Doctor Ross Hauser, Note Estrogen production depends on testosterone production in both women and men. Pregnenolone is the only hormone that acts as a precursor for progesterone in the Alternative Steroid pathway. Note balance those hormones!

“Even a modest lack of sleep, two to three hours in a single night, adversely affects hormones and increases inflammatory cytokines as much as 50%.” Doctor Alexandros Vgontas et al 1999

"Dr. Jahi Kumar and colleagues at Albert Einstein School of Medicine looked at more than 6,000 American kids (age one to 21) who were carefully selected to be representative of the average American child. Nine percent of the kids had 25(OH)D levels less than 15 ng/ml and 70% (representing 58 million kids) had levels less than 30 ng/ml. The older the child, the blacker the child, the more TV and video games, the fatter the child, the higher the chance the child is deficient. Tragically, 59% of black teenage girls had levels less than 15 ng/ml. Children with low levels were more likely to have abnormal blood lipids, high blood pressure, obesity, and abnormally elevate parathyroid hormone levels, all risks for future cardiovascular disease. Only 4% of American children take recommended doses of Vitamin D supplements, surely a failure of U.S. pediatricians."    Note for robust good health shoot for 60 ng/ml IMO

“Vitamin K engages in a delicate dance with vitamin D; whereas vitamin D provides improved bone development by helping you absorb calcium, there is new evidence that vitamin K2 directs the calcium to your skeleton, while preventing it from being deposited where you don't want it -- i.e., your organs, joint spaces, and arteries. A large part of arterial plaque consists of calcium deposits (atherosclerosis), hence the term "hardening of the arteries. Vitamin K2 activates a protein hormone called osteocalcin, produced by osteoblasts, which is needed to bind calcium into the matrix of your bone. Osteocalcin also appears to help prevent calcium from depositing into your arteries. In other words, without the help of vitamin K2, the calcium that your vitamin D so effectively lets in might be working AGAINST you -- by building up your coronary arteries rather than your bones.”   Why Might Vitamin K2 be so Beneficial for Your Heart?

“Cholesterol is vital to proper neurological function. It plays a key role in the formation of memory and the uptake of hormones in the brain, including serotonin, the body’s feel-good chemical. When cholesterol levels drop too low, the serotonin receptors cannot work. Cholesterol is the main organic molecule in the brain, constituting over half the dry weight of the cerebral cortex.”   Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, PhD   Note this is often why you feel so bad on a anti-cholesterol drug; your cholesterol it TOO LOW to transport the feel good hormone; get off this crap IMO

“DHEA is a major marker for age and health. Its major effect in a coping person is anti-stress, meaning that the increased cortisone produced by stress is subsequently normally brought back down to baseline by a rise in DHEA.”    Doctor Norman Shealy

“There are many herbal preparations on the market for adrenal exhaustion. However, the most important therapeutic measure is to provide your adrenal glands with plenty of dietary cholesterol.”    Doctor Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD

“Patients on vitamin-D therapy report a wide range of beneficial results including increased energy and strength, resolution of hormonal problems, weight loss, an end to sugar cravings, blood sugar normalization and improvement of nervous system disorders.”   Krispin Sullivan, CN

"It's a delicate balance, this hormonal dance."   Doctor Hyla Cass MD, Note IMO direct hormonal supplementation requires the help of a professional who knows their stuff. IMO mostly with sufficient study you can obviate  most direct hormone use.

“It is commonly reported that decreasing DHEA levels are inevitable with aging. But I have seen healthy, active eighty-year-olds with optimal DHEA levels and I have seen stressed-out thirty-year-olds with low or deficient levels of DHEA. Very low DHEA levels often precede a major illness by several years. Insulin, blood sugar, and cortisone all cause increased secretion of DHEA into urine. Prolonged stress, which may raise insulin, blood sugar and cortisol, eventually leads to low DHEA blood levels.”  Doctor Norman Shealy

Cholesterol is the MAJOR feedstock for ALL your hormone building. Sunshine is the major source of vitamin D which has MANY hormone-like functions in your body. Vitamin K has many hormone like functions, Make sure you get PLENTY of these four hormone building blocks.

The hormone pregnenolone is the precursor for all alternative hormone construction. Pregnenolone usually falls off about the age of 60 or so. IMO you should pay attention to this negative effect of aging; wild yam supplements can supply pregnenolone.

Good For Good Hormone Production

"Radishes contain raphanin (mainly sulfur),which is responsible for keeping the production of thyroid and calcitonin (a peptide hormone) in normal balance. With proper amounts of raphanin circulating in blood plasma, the thyroid won't under or over produce these two hormones. This makes balancing the thyroid, treating thyroid diseases as well as Graves disease a small miracle of the tangy, little red radish. The sulfur amino acids in radish juice help break up fat deposits in the liver as an added bonus."   RADISHES AND THE THYROID
