The Insulin process was designed by your body to handle a FEW simple carbs and NO refined SUGAR. Our SAD forces our poor Insulin to process LOTS of simple carbs and LOTS of sugar. This is not good. Even at two or three percent of your calories sugar represents a threat to your insulin mechanism. The average person is ingesting twenty five percent of his calories as sugar. This does not count the many tens of percent he ingests as high glycemic foods which are near sugar. We see the result of this assault on our poor insulin mechanism, a disaster of monumental proportions as our children as young as 10 and 12 fall victim to sugar diabetes.

You have to protect your Insulin from simple carbs, sugars and grains. IMO YOUR control over your insulin production is one of the most important aspects of YOUR health. The average person eats 25% of his calories as sugar in its thousands of forms, add in the other simple carbs and you have a disaster for your poor insulin. You cannot afford to be an average eater.

As we chronically eat sugar and simple carbs our cells become more resistant to the effects of too much insulin and blood sugar which damages them. As your cells become increasingly insulin resistant, your body compensates by secreting more insulin in an attempt to drive more blood sugar into your muscle and liver cells. You with your over consumption of sugar and simple carbs have set up a battle between your cells trying to protect themselves from too much insulin and your insulin trying to dispose of the excess glucose in its blood and thus protect your body.
