While 71.4% of adults consumed at least 10% or more of their calories from added sugar during 2005-2010, sugar counted for at least 25% of the calories among 10% of the group. When the researchers examined the association between added sugar and the risk of cardiovascular death over a median 14.6 years of follow-up, subjects whose intake was among the top one-fifth of participants had an adjusted risk that was twice that of participants whose intake was among the lowest fifth. Sugar A "Food" Additive We can NO Longer Eat

Beet sugar is now GMO. This makes total avoidance of sugar IMO imperative! Beet sugar being cheaper than non-gmo cane sugar is used in the cheap processed foods as a cheap sweetening filler, oops I almost said KILLER.

Refined sugar, table sugar, sucrose, is half glucose and half fructose. The glucose half can be bad but not as bad as fructose as your body can handle glucose. What is often bad about the glucose is the sudden flood of glucose from simple carbs that requires too much insulin production. A slow release of glucose such as occurs from complex carbs is fine.

But unbound, free, fructose (See Fructose Protocol) is a toxin in all but trace amounts. The fructose found in fruit is mostly bound but even too much sweet fruit, such as in a processed fruit juice, can harm you.
