Potassium Protocol

“Vitamins and minerals are not functionally separable. They make each other work. Example: vitamin D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium.   Copper is necessary for vitamin C activity. And so on. Mineral deficiencies can cause vitamin deficiencies, and vice versa. Epidemic mineral deficiency in America is a well-documented result of systematic soil depletion. So that is the other prime difference between whole food vitamins and synthetics: whole food vitamins contain within them many essential trace minerals necessary for their synergistic operation. Synthetic vitamins contain no trace minerals, relying on, and depleting, the bodies own mineral reserves.”  Doctor Tim O'Shea

At the same time, those with the highest sodium intake had a 55% increased risk of total stroke-related mortality, a 104% increased risk of ischemic stroke mortality, and a 42% increased risk of total cardiovascular disease-related mortality." "Researchers looked at a large group of older men and women, both smokers and non smokers. They found clear evidence that higher vitamin C intake led to stronger bones. But when the researchers adjusted for potassium intake, the benefits were lost. This means that potassium could account for the improvement. This raises a significant question. Was the benefit from just dietary vitamin C or what comes with dietary vitamin C? The authors said that you can't separate the vitamin C from the other constituents of fruit and veggies (like potassium) and get the same results. Potassium is Required for Life

"There is evidence that a high potassium diet can lower LDL and raise HDL, may thwart atherosclerosis and the formation of blood clots that can trigger heart attack and stroke."    Doctor George Webb PhD

"Among women whose potassium intake was among the highest 25%, there was a 12% lower risk of stroke, a 16% lower risk of ischemic stroke, and a 10% lower risk of dying from any cause over follow-up in comparison with those whose intake was among the lowest 25%. Editor’s Note: Although the US Department of Agriculture recommends a level of 4,700 mg of potassium daily, lead researcher Dr. Sylvia Wassertheil-Smoller, of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, observed that, “Only 2.8% of women in our study met or exceeded this level. The World Health Organization’s daily potassium recommendation for women is lower, at 3,510 mg or more. Still, only 16.6% of women we studied met or exceeded that.”    Higher Potassium Intake Linked With Lower Risk Of Death, Stroke   Note shoot for at least 10,000 mg for vastly better odds in your favor. Eating  healthy, 10,000 is SIMPLE to achieve.

Potassium is required for life and is found in most vegetables and fruits. You will have no problems obtaining your required Potassium if you stay away from processed foods and eat your fresh veggies. Cooking can waste as much as 70% of the potassium in a food.

 You need at least four times more Potassium than sodium (See Salt Protocol) in your body or you will have NUMEROUS problems to include HBP.

Potassium is required for life and is found in most fresh vegetables and fruit. You will have no problems obtaining your required Potassium if you stay away from processed foods and eat your veggies and fresh raw food. IMO potassium is a key to health; you MUST get at least 10,000 mg a day, you will do this easily if you stay away from junk food and eat your fruits and vegetables.

IMO much of the high blood pressure problems are due to eating too much sodium IN RELATION to potassium.

If you eat a lot of junk foods, which use a LOT of processed table salt and LITTLE potassium, you may get three times the sodium as potassium. You need about four times more Potassium than sodium (See Salt Protocol) in your body for normal healthy functioning. Low Potassium levels may lead to Stroke  and muscle cramps. Many people on junk food may get as much as 5,000 mg of sodium a day and as little as 100 mg of potassium it may take some time but they will develop major problems.

    

A high Sodium to Potassium ratio increases the risk of:

Good sea salt will not give you HBP; a diet LOW in potassium just might.
