Researchers have concluded that countries with lower boron levels in the soil had much more arthritis. Perhaps this does not prove anything but it tells me to supplement with boron.

Boron appears to slow the excretion of calcium from your bones. Boron works best in conjunction with magnesium (See Magnesium Protocol) and other co-factors and is often found in foods with magnesium. Boron appears to play a role with the major nutrients involved in bone health: vitamin D, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus.

     

Boron and Post Menopausal Health

IMO women with post menopausal problems should certainly try supplementing with about 8 mg of boron/day. Boron coupled with a natural post menopausal protocol should certainly be tried before any drug use.

Some of the richest sources of boron are in peanuts, dried fruits such as raisins and prunes and nuts. These foods often have about 3 mg per serving. Boron is also found in coffee, plums, red grapes, apples, pears, alfalfa and avocados.

IMO if you do not eat a lot of these boron containing foods you should supplement at least a few times a week. Three milligrams a day is often the amount of supplemental boron recommended. IMO we may need to shoot for at least 8 mg of boron/day total from food and supplements. 8 mg/day of boron is about what was consumed in this country in 1900. Boron today is often depleted in our soils.

I try to eat at least one apple and avocado a day a lot of nuts, alfalfa and avocados and supplement often with 8 mg of boron.
