Vein and DVT Protocol

Your veins need a Little Attention. Deep Vein Thrombosis is the LEADING cause of most disability and death in people over the age of 50.

“DVT [deep vein thrombosis] and PE [pulmonary embolism] are major public health problems in the United States. Much is known about how to reduce their burden, yet this knowledge is not being applied systematically today. Without a concerted effort to stem this public health crisis, the incidence and burden of these diseases will only grow larger as the population ages."   Surgeon General of USA  2009

"Deep vein thrombosis is a medical condition that happens when a thrombus, or blood clot, forms in a large vein in the body and blocks blood circulation. The area of affection is typically the lower limbs of the body. Also abbreviated as DVT, deep vein thrombosis may result in further health complications and possibly death if left untreated. For example, pulmonary embolism (blockage in a main artery in the lung) is a common consequence of untreated DVT, and can be fatal."   Deep Vein Thrombosis

“Grape seed extract is excellent at treating vascular diseases because it actually increases the structural strength of weakened blood vessels.” Jean Carper

“Gotu kola strengthens the connective tissue structure that surrounds the frail vein giving it support.” Allerga et al

In a double blinded study of fifty patients with varicose veins 150 mg of grape seed OPC a day worked faster and longer than a commonly prescribed drug (Diosmine) in reducing pain, sensations of burning and tingling and the degree of distension of the veins.” Italian Study

“In a study of 92 patients with venous insufficiency or varicose veins subjects given 300 mg of grape seed OPC daily for 28 days showed reduced pain, tingling, night leg cramps and swelling by more than 50%, making it twice as effective as the dummy pill.” French Study 1985

"Harvard researchers have found that a flavonoid compound in apples called rutin (it’s also found in onions, buckwheat, citrus fruits, and tea) has powerful properties that prevents blood clots in heart vessels. Rutin could prevent both the arterial clots that cause heart attacks and strokes and the venous clots that cause deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism."

“While those eating the most red and processed meat doubled their risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), those in the upper 3 quintiles of fruit and vegetable intake had a 41-53% lower risk of DVT. And those eating fish, such as salmon, at least once each week were found to have a 30-45% lower DVT risk.”    Steffen LM, Folsom AR, et al. Circulation.

"A key benefit of centella extracts is its ability to increase the integrity of the perivascular sheath - the connective tissue structure that surrounds the frail vein- giving it at least some support. By increasing the support structure's integrity, the function of the vein is also improved."     Doctor Joseph Pizzorono N.D. Note centella extracts are found in gotu kola

"Numerous double-blind studies have demonstrated that the triterpenic acid extract of gotu kola is effective in the treatment of varicose veins."   Doctor Michael Murray N.D

“Diseased veins are most commonly associated with prolonged sitting or standing careers, hereditary factors, and pregnancy. However, even if you are at high risk for vein disease, there are principles you can follow to help maintain ‘healthy veins for life.’ Exercise is the #1 healthy vein principle, but certain exercises are better for your veins than others. As you exercise, blood is pumped back to the heart from the calf muscle and veins in the arch of the foot – a strong calf muscle promotes healthy blood circulation and minimizes vein disease.”   Exercise and Varicose Veins

"Horse Chestnut: How does it work? Horse chestnut contains a substance that thins the blood. It also makes it harder for fluid to leak out of veins and capillaries and weakly promotes fluid loss through the urine to help prevent water retention (edema)."   Web MD

Our venous system is responsible for returning our deoxygenated blood to our hearts for re-oxygenation. The deep veins in the muscles propel most of the blood when the muscles are flexed; so it is a good idea not to sit still too long. When sleeping prone your blood is easier to move and not much movement is required.

Reading these quotes you will find out what it takes to keep your veins in shape. Executing the blood coagulation protocol from time to time will help dissolve any blood clots that may be forming in your veins. IMO any signs of vein clotting problems requires a SERIOUS examination of your life style and a rework to avoid this potentially SERIOUS problem. I take grape seed extract, gotu kola, Horse chestnut extract, and several other supplements habitually, in part to keep my varicose veins and hemorrhoids, which are a form of varicose veins, under control.

Blockages in Arteries and Veins

Three disorders involving arterial Blockages are:

  • CVD
  • Heart Attack
  • Ischemic Stroke

Three disorders involving venous thrombosis are:

  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Pulmonary Embolism
  • Ischemic Stroke

Once you understand how DVT manifests in the Death Tables. The threat from DVT becomes clearer.

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/images/databriefs/151-200/db178_fig3.pngNote: Why are Influenza (2% of the total) and pneumonia (98% of the total) COMBINED? Why to push the toxic worthless "flu shot".

Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT)

Deep Vein Thrombosis is the LEADING cause of most disability and death in people over the age of 50.

“DVT [deep vein thrombosis] and PE [pulmonary embolism] are major public health problems in the United States. Much is known about how to reduce their burden, yet this knowledge is not being applied systematically today. Without a concerted effort to stem this public health crisis, the incidence and burden of these diseases will only grow larger as the population ages."   Surgeon General of USA  2009

Note unlike the blockages of atherosclerosis the CLOTS of DVT form entirely within the vein lumen itself and NOT in the vessel wall. This makes attacking the CLOTS much easier as all we need do is put the anti-clotting foods and suplements in the blood stream. Of course you must remedy the conditions which caused the DVT first.

DVT (Power Point) Note you need to view this to incentivize you to avoid this whole bloody mess. It sure worked for me; DVT is something you do not want in your life (body) even at 1% of these extreme examples.

Foot Long Blood Clot Note IMO this probably originated as a DVT

"Deep vein thrombosis is a medical condition that happens when a thrombus, or blood clot, forms in a large vein in the body and blocks blood circulation. The area of affection is typically the lower limbs of the body. Also abbreviated as DVT, deep vein thrombosis may result in further health complications and possibly death if left untreated.

"Pulmonary embolism is a serious complication of DVT. Many episodes of pulmonary embolism go unrecognized, and at least 40% of DVT patients have clinically silent PE on VQ scanning."   DVT (Power Point)

"Practically anyone can be at risk, and the statistics are frightening. According to the American College of Cardiology, those who sit more than four hours a day have a 48% increased risk of mortality from blood clots that originate in the veins. Through a series of well-designed studies, scientists investigating certain natural extracts found that they can block these blood clots from forming and can help break down small clots before they grow.4-7 They also found that these extracts safely restore the natural anti-clotting and clot-reversal processes, making a dangerous clot less likely to form and quicker to resolve if it does."   Natural Approach to Guard Against DVT   Note get up at least once an hour and WALK or climb stairs for at least five minutes

"After searching for natural, deep vein thrombosis-inhibiting interventions, scientists identified two ingredients that demonstrated powerful preventive effects: Nattokinase, an enzyme extracted from soybeans fermented with the bacterium Bacillus natto, and French maritime pine bark, a natural extract rich in polyphenols. ... Nattokinase and pine bark extract were shown to work together to prevent clots as well as to improve the microcirculation of the legs."   Natural Approach to Guard Against DVT

"Sitting at a desk or watching TV for too long, without moving your muscles, increases risk of death from a deep-vein clot in the leg by 48%. These clots, called deep vein thrombosis (DVT), can result in a pulmonary embolism, an often fatal condition. Realizing a new strategy is needed in today’s age of sedentary lifestyles, scientists have investigated the effects of various nutrient compounds. Two extracts—nattokinase and French maritime pine bark—have been found to help prevent the formation of deadly clots, and to make clots that do develop more likely to resolve quickly. This is an important life-saving finding for anyone who regularly sits for extended periods of time during their daily commute, at their job, on an airplane, or at home watching television."   Lethal Dangers of Sitting Too Long

Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is the formation of one or more venous thrombus somewhere in the deep veins. Should this clot move or break up it may result in a pulmonary embolism, stroke, heart attack or other serious problem(s). Pulmonary Embolism often manifests with symptoms of shortness of breath; be sure to immediately and thoroughly check out this symptom; the PE can also be a marker for all the other diseases resulting from DVT.

Eating right, supplementing, exercise, constantly moving and executing the blood coagulation protocol from time to time should help prevent most DVT.

DVT often begins with an inflammation in the veins called phlebitis. This is the time to stop this vein problem. Take the steps to protect against inflammation and strengthen your veins. For a serious case of DVT I would work with my physician and take some nattokinase/Serrazimes/bromelain every day in a continuous effort to dissolve the clot(s). You need a good doctor who will NOT put you on Rat Poison (Courmadin).

Should you develop DVT you should frequently execute the blood coagulation protocol which will help dissolve the blood clot. IMO any signs of DVT requires a SERIOUS examination of your life style and a rework to avoid this SERIOUS problem. I take grape seed extract, gotu kola, Horse chestnut extract, and several other supplements habitually, in part to keep my varicose veins under control; this is also helping to avoid DVT.

OPCs and Your Veins

The OPCs are very protective and reparative of your veins. OPCs protect your endothelium from glycation.

The OPCs protect your collagen, a base membrane of many tissues, from oxidation, OPCs are a class of antioxidant plus it will pay you to be very familiar with IMO. Once your learn the manifold benefits and multiple sources of the OPCs it may alter your eating habits, at least it has mine.

Yoga Exercises can Help with Circulation and DVT

Women, Birth Control, Drugs and DVT

“Although Dr. Ansell states that the actual frequency of DVTs [Deep Vein Thrombosis] is low in young people, he emphasizes that it’s essential to know about the risk. “This should not be called an epidemic, but about 100,000 people die each year as a result and there are upwards of 500,000-600,000 cases per year. … Kate was lucky to escape with her life, but knowing the warning signs could have gotten her more immediate medical attention. Shortness of breath, chest pain (particularly with deep breathing), coughing up blood, persistent leg pain, or redness, swelling, or warmth in your lower legs (usually one-sided) can all be indications of a blood clot in the legs or lungs, and should never be ignored. … If you’re already on estrogen-based birth control, burn the list of DVT and PE [Pulmonary Embolism] symptoms into your brain. And if you feel strongly that something is amiss—trust your instincts and see your doctor”   What Every Woman Needs to Know About Blood Clots

Normally young people both men and women have a low risk of DVT, which usually takes decades to develop. However certain DRUGS, especially hormone containing Birth Control Drugs many INDUCE DVT. Please take the time to completely understand this issue.

Here we see how all the "transgender" nonsense which has very young boys taking female hormones and very young girls taking male hormones is probably inducing DVT in our teen aged children.

Nattokinase and French Maritime Pine Bark can help prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis

"In this study, nattokinase produced a mild but steady increase in the rate of fibrin breakdown in the blood, an action that can prevent clots and reduce the size and toughness of existing clots. In a later study, scientists demonstrated that nattokinase could break down fibrinogen (fibrin’s precursor) in the blood of spontaneously hypertensive rats. It also reduced blood pressure, a significant finding since high blood pressure is a risk factor for blood clots. High blood levels of fibrinogen predispose a person to coronary and cerebral artery disease.23-26 Fibrinogen levels tend to increase with age and poor health habits.27 Life Extension recommends an optimal fibrinogen blood level of 295-369 mg/dL."   Lethal Dangers of Sitting Too Long

French maritime pine bark is a natural extract that is rich in special polyphenols. Studies show that it provides powerful thrombosis-preventive effects by: Reducing platelet aggregation, thus inhibiting clots, increasing the activity of an enzyme that generates nitric oxide, which regulates vascular function to reduce thrombotic risks, scavenging free radicals, which reduces stress on vascular walls that can cause microscopic injuries that trigger coagulation, improving microcirculation of the legs, which is critical during sedentary periods and inhibiting the action of “protein-melting” enzymes, which would otherwise degrade elastic proteins in the blood vessel walls, making them stiff and reducing blood flow."    Lethal Dangers of Sitting Too Long

"Deep vein thrombosis is a serious risk for anyone who spends extended periods sitting. In addition to causing uncomfortable leg swelling, it can lead to a sudden and deadly pulmonary embolism. Nattokinase and French maritime pine bark extract protect against these risks by improving leg microcirculation, promoting vein elasticity, inhibiting venous clot formation, and helping to dissolve any clots that do form. When taken together, these nutrients have been shown to decrease leg swelling and prevent deep vein thrombosis."   Lethal Dangers of Sitting Too Long

  • Inhibiting unwanted clot formation within veins,
  • Improving microcirculation in the veins of the legs,
  • Promoting elasticity of vessel walls, and
  • Inducing breakdown of clots.

Here we see how these two excellent supplements can be used to prevent and TREAT DVT.

What You Need to Know
Preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis

Preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis

  • Spending long periods sitting can lead to deep vein thrombosis, which can trigger a deadly pulmonary embolism.
  • Nattokinase and French maritime pine bark extract help prevent deep vein thrombosis by inhibiting unhealthy clotting, promoting leg microcirculation, and supporting vein flexibility.
  • A human study has shown that this dual-extract blend safely prevented deep vein thrombosis while also decreasing leg swelling.
  • These two extracts represent a safe, effective option for preventing the potentially deadly dangers associated with sitting for long periods of time.

Venous Reflux Disease

“Venous Reflux Disease, also known as Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), affects the circulation of your blood. The main role of your veins is to return blood to the heart, but if the valves inside the veins fail, they will give way to the forces of gravity and not return blood to the heart. This backward flow is called reflux. This blood can become acidic from accumulation of metabolic waste, causing an intense inflammatory reaction resulting in symptoms such as pain and swelling.1 Venous reflux disease can lead to spider veins or thick, bulging varicose veins. Typically, varicose veins are an indicator of venous reflux, which can cause serious circulatory problems if not treated."   Life Extension

“Varicose veins are caused by unhealthy valves inside the veins.7 When these valves fail or leak, they can no longer pump blood to the heart. Gravity causes the blood to gather in the veins and makes them look enlarged, twisted or full and bulging. Aside from their unpleasant appearance, other side effects of varicose veins include pain, fatigue, itching, burning, swelling, cramping, restlessness, and throbbing, which will worsen over time if left untreated and can lead to even more serious circulatory problems.   Life Extension

“One of the most widely used nutraceutical approaches for varicose veins is horse chestnut seed extract (Aesculus hippocastanum). Horse chestnut seed extract is widely used in Europe for chronic venous insufficiency. Horse chestnut seed extract has demonstrated impressive efficacy in relieving the symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, effectively reducing leg volume, alleviating leg pain, improving edema, and averting itching.18 Horse chestnut has been reported to increase blood circulation by face or legs can also be successful as the newer equipment is more specific to the vein and spares the surrounding tissues.”   Life Extension

I have had a mild case of varicose veins for most of my 80 or so years. I have kept on them by taking most of the recommended herbs and they have stabilized at a mild state of mostly stable protruding leg veins in the summer, when veins are forced to your skin surface for cooling purposes.

Exercise and Veins

“Diseased veins are most commonly associated with prolonged sitting or standing careers, hereditary factors, and pregnancy. However, even if you are at high risk for vein disease, there are principles you can follow to help maintain ‘healthy veins for life.’ Exercise is the #1 healthy vein principle, but certain exercises are better for your veins than others. As you exercise, blood is pumped back to the heart from the calf muscle and veins in the arch of the foot – a strong calf muscle promotes healthy blood circulation and minimizes vein disease.”   Exercise and Varicose Veins

“Other activities can worsen venous reflux. We encourage avoiding these activities or performing them in very short segments combined with aerobic activity.”    Exercise and Varicose Veins   Note good Vein information here The key seems to be to mix the strength training with aerobic training at the SAME time.

“Strenuous exercise can put a strain on the venous circulation. As blood flows up the leg veins back to the heart, it flows through the vena cava in the abdomen. Increasing the abdominal pressure by heavy lifting and straining impedes blood from traveling back to the heart. The venous blood then pools in the leg veins increasing the venous pressure and venous reflux or reversal of flow in the leg veins into varicose veins in the legs. Weightlifting is not a great form of exercise for healthy veins for life. If you do lift weights, use good lifting techniques: lower weight and high rep routines, exhale when you lift, and incorporate aerobic activity such as walking or riding a stationary bike immediately afterward in order to get the blood circulating again. Remember to wear compression socks while weightlifting and directly after to assist with moving the blood upward towards the heart.”   Exercise and Varicose Veins   Note good Vein information here

Flavonoids are Very Protective and Restorative of Your Veins

"Rutin helps fight spider veins and varicose veins by maintaining healthy blood circulation. It also decreases capillary permeability and makes the blood thinner,6 thereby improving microcirculation so the skin cells receive more oxygen and nutrients."   Life Extension

"Three of the better-known bioflavonoids, quercetin, hesperidin, and rutin, have intriguing research indicating their abilities to prevent and reverse wrinkles, reduce the appearance of age spots, and fight spider veins.3-6. As potent as these plant metabolites are on their own, they exhibit an even greater effect when they're  used  together, as studies have shown they work synergistically by harmonizing with each other 20,21."   How Bioflavonoids Create Youthful Skin Tone

"Chronic Venous Insufficiency A condition in which the veins do not efficiently return blood from the legs to the heart, chronic venous insufficiency is linked to problems like varicose veins, ankle swelling, and nighttime leg cramping. Supplements containing a combination of hesperidin, extract of the herb butcher's broom, and ascorbic acid (a form of vitamin C) may help treat chronic venous insufficiency, according to a 2007 study published in International Angiology."   Hesperidin and Chronic Venous Insufficiency

All the flavonoids are very protective and restorative for your veins. If you are having any sort of problems with your veins please do not pass up any chance you have to EAT a good chunk, flesh AND skin of any citrus fruit you get  your hands on. Yeah eating a lemon skin may not be pleasant BUT IMO it is far better than spending the rest of your life in a chair or worse. Just take a single bite to start. Be careful to protect your teeth from the acid by washing them with water immediately after.

Good for Healthy Veins

"Although OPCs, procyanidolic oligomers exist in many plants, commercially available sources of PCOs include grape seed extracts and extracts from the bark of the maritime pine (Pycnogenol)."   Doctor Michael Murray N.D, Note here it is folks GSE is THE replacement for Pycnogenol
