LDL Is a Protective Healer

“The question is, why do some people have more cholesterol in their blood than others, and why can the same person have different levels of cholesterol at different times of the day? Why is our level of cholesterol different in different seasons of the year? In winter it goes up and in the summer it goes down. Please note most of the time changes in your LDL levels are a normal part of living. For example your LDL is normally higher in the winter than in the summer; probably because high blood levels of vitamin D in the summer take some of the load off cholesterol’s healing responsibilities.

LDL inactivates dangerous bacterial toxins; it plays a major role in your immune system explaining the observed relationship between low cholesterol and various chronic and often deadly diseases such as AIDS.

  

Small Dense LDL is a risk factor for CVD

“Dr. Robert Rosenson, who focuses research on LDL particle size, not amounts: LDL particles [size] are a much stronger predictor of risk than LDL cholesterol… The questions is, why are we still relying on a marker that is not a predictor of severity of disease? Folks this puts ginger on your MUST HAVE list IMO.

Accumulation of large very low density lipoprotein in plasma during intravenous infusion of a chylomicron-like triglyceride emulsion reflects competition for a common lipolytic pathway.

    

Folks here is ANOTHER major problem with fructose and why we MUST avoid it. Triglycerides resulting from SUGAR and simple carb consumption, precedes small dense LDL. Your body converts excess sugar and simple carbs into fats and uses triglycerides and small dense LDL to transport the fats.

 Small dense LDL packets and triglycerides which transport fats are associated with CVD. The fewer VLDL packets you force your body to produce the better off you are. The small dense LDL are the  forms of LDL which are easier to enter your artery wall and possibly begin the atherosclerosis process.

      

Oxidized LDL is a risk factor for Cardiovascular Disease

"Importantly the LDL molecule does not have apoE or apoC and is therefore not cleared from the blood by the liver. The consequence of the long ˝ life of LDL in the plasma is the LDL is susceptible to oxidative modification of the phospholipid monolayer containing polyunsaturated fatty acids."   A Crash Course in Understanding Lipoprotein Metabolism , Note it is the oxidation of the LDL packet that often starts CVD

Oxidation of LDL causes it to accumulate in certain scavenger white blood cells called macrophages—an instrumental event in its accumulation within atherosclerotic plaque.41 Oxidized LDL also suppresses the production of eNOS. Since nitric oxide inhibits the oxidation of LDL, the loss of nitric oxide and the oxidation of LDL could produce a vicious cycle.33 When the level of sugar in the blood rises, it can similarly damage LDL in a process called glycation. Although less powerfully than oxidized LDL, glycated LDL also accumulates in macrophages42 and suppresses the production of eNOS.   Cholesterol and Stroke

Healthy un-oxidized LDL is normally little risk and it becomes ever less a risk as your HDL is increased.  Healthy un-oxidized LDL may be a MARKER for an increased risk if your body is using the healthy LDL to heal an underlying unhealthy condition that is itself the cause of the risk.

Reducing Your High Number of LDL Packets

Often a substance such as garlic is proven to reduce LDL. This is considered “good” as a lower LDL, as long as it is not TOO low, will often BE ASSOCIATED WITH a reduced risk of death. So what is going on here? Is your risk less because your LDL is lower or is more going on here than is apparent at first glance.

Let’s look a little deeper. Suppose for example your base problem is inflammation of your arteries due to a bacterial infection. Now left untreated this inflammation BY ITSELF will raise your risk of death. Your body produces more cholesterol to attempt to calm your inflamed arteries. But your increased LDL is NOT your base problem it is only a marker for your problem. You now ingest the garlic; the garlic kills the bacteria curing your inflamed arteries; your LDL levels fall because your body no longer needs to tend to your inflamed arteries. So what was your problem? What was the solution to your problem? And what was the role of LDL?

There are thousands of base problems and thousands of reasons why your body will produce cholesterol to attempt to make these problems better. Please don’t shoot the messenger.
